»Bij Olympus hebben we oog voor de schade die de maatschappij kan oplopen als gevolg van omkoping en corruptie. Zoals uiteengezet in onze Gedragscode zijn we er trots op dat we met een sterk gevoel voor eerlijkheid, oprechtheid en ethiek zakendoen. Olympus heeft de 10 principes van de United Nations Global Compact ondertekend en daarmee verklaard zich te houden aan deze internationaal erkende richtlijnen, waaronder richtlijnen om omkoping en corruptie tegen te gaan. Olympus Europa heeft een zero tolerance-beleid ten aanzien van omkoping en corruptie en spant zich in om zakelijk te opereren zonder naar corruptiepraktijken of omkoping te grijpen teneinde oneerlijk voordeel te behalen. Deze zero tolerance-benadering geldt voor alle werknemers en functionarissen bij Olympus.

Om dit te bereiken hanteert de Olympus Europa Groep de volgende stelregels:

• Weigeren om steekpenningen te betalen, of opdracht te geven om namens Olympus steekpenningen te betalen, met het doel een zakelijk voordeel te behalen;
• Weigeren om steekpenningen aan te nemen, of ermee in te stemmen om namens Olympus steekpenningen aan te nemen, met het doel een bedrijfsactiviteit oneerlijk te beïnvloeden;
• Ervoor zorgen dat alle werknemers en functionarissen van Olympus in Europa op de hoogte zijn van de waarden en principes genoemd in de Gedragscode;
• Vermijden van zakelijke relaties met derden die de 10 principes van de UN Global Compact niet accepteren of naleven;
• Ontwikkelen en implementeren van richtlijnen en processen teneinde omkoping en andere illegale praktijken bij Olympus te vermijden; en
• Toepasselijke werkwijzen regelmatig toetsen en vernieuwen, indien nodig.

Het is de verantwoordelijkheid van alle werknemers en functionarissen van Olympus in Europa om omkoping en corruptie te voorkomen, te constateren en te melden. Alle personen en organisaties die een zakelijke relatie met Olympus hebben, zoals distributeurs, leveranciers of andere zakenpartners, worden gestimuleerd om omkoping en corruptie te helpen voorkomen en met Olympus contact op te nemen wanneer zich belangrijke vragen of zorgen voordoen. Er zijn meerdere contactpersonen beschikbaar om een punt of vraag met betrekking tot omkoping en corruptie te bespreken of te melden. Op alle Europese websites van Olympus worden in de betreffende taal telefoonnummers en e-mailadressen gegeven. De informatie staat ook op de laatste pagina van onze Gedragscode, die eveneens op de Europese websites van Olympus beschikbaar is.«

These Global Standards ("Global Standards") have been designed to provide guidance to our third parties on the fundamental values, principles, and standards of behavior which Olympus expects whenever a third party is engaged by or on behalf of the Olympus Group. We consider our third parties to be our partners in business and we expect the same high standard of integrity from them that we expect from our employees and managers.

Third Party: A third party is any external company, organization or individual, not owned, controlled, or employed by an Olympus Group company that Olympus has hired or intends to contract to provide goods or services or engage in business activities with or on behalf of an Olympus Group company.

The Integrity Line is Olympus’ internal whistleblowing and reporting channel. It is available to all Olympus employees and Olympus Business Partners and can be used to report potential violations of the Olympus Code of Conduct, internal policies, or applicable laws.

The Integrity Line is operated by an independent external provider and is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Reports may be submitted confidentially and, where permitted by applicable law, anonymously.

The portal provides the current reporting options for your location. You can submit a report online or use the available voice reporting option, including telephone reporting or web-based calling where available.

External reporting channels

In addition to Olympus contacts and internal reporting channels, reporters may also have the right to report externally to competent authorities.

The availability, scope and procedure of external reporting channels vary by country and may depend on the subject matter of the report. Reporters who wish to report externally should review the applicable local requirements and the external reporting channels available in their jurisdiction.

External reporting channels are operated by competent public authorities and are not controlled by Olympus. Information on the applicable procedure, confidentiality rules, follow-up process and scope of protection should be obtained from the relevant authority or official government sources in the respective country.
